    Microphone input on nForce 2

I can't get the microphone inputs to work....front or back The front one shows as "alternative mic" in the drivers.

need it for Voice comms....and I can't get it to work. All the menu's show it, and its set in XP to be active, its not muted.

In other cards I have had, you can "activate" it and hear your own *god awfull* voice, but to no avail.

Anyone had this, or know its a normal problem.

    It's Soundstorm....

Hmmm, I have the same chipset in my mobo and my mic works fine via Ventrilo.

Have you tried updating to the latest nForce (3.13) drivers?
Also, are you sure the mic isn't farked?

Is your mobo an Abit by any chance?

There was an issue with the Canterwood and Springdale ABIT boards doing this but not heard of the NF2 doing it...

    Need more info!!
