    amd64 1.8mhz

Has any one seen any reviews or benchmarks of the Amd64 1.8Mhz newegg.com has them already for 209 bucks iam jusy wondering how they compare to the Amd64 2.0 with 1mb of cache vs. just having 512, thanks

Are you talking about this processor? http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...4&searchdepa=0

If so I thought this was meant to be at 2.0GHz with 512k cache?

Something fishy is going on if you ask me. Benchmark results are here if goyu want to take a look:

    http://theinquirer.net/?article=13187

If it is only at 1.8GHz I would deduct 10% off the scores to get a round about idea of what to expect from it but again I am pretty confused as the previous info all suggested the Athlon64 3000+ was meant to be 2.0GHz with half a meg of cache.

They dont really have an 'FSB' like other chipsets do but I think it is meant to be 400MHz.....again though it's not an FSB as in you dont multiply from the FSB to get a core clockspeed.

Instead you have a core clockspeed and you divide by it to get the system bus speed... or summat... heh let me find you a link...cos me making an eejit of myself here.

On a side note, before we get into the numbers I think it is important to mention that although we have used the term "FSB" in the following pages, the Front-Side-Bus isn't really applicable anymore to the Athlon64. As an AMD Representative puts it; "The 200MHz clock generator feeds the components of the motherboard (including the CPU), but it is not the speed of the CPUs interface to the memory controller or to the chipset. The old term FSB has always represented the speed at which the processor moves memory traffic and other command and data traffic to and from the chipset. Because the memory controller is located on the processor die, that memory subsystem traffic no longer has to go through the chipset or CPU-to-memory calls. With Athlon64 processors, the speed at which the CPU and memory controller interface is full processor frequency - the speed at which the processor and chipset communicate is dependent on the chipset's Hypertransport spec which can be at speeds of up to 1600MHz."
