    I can confirm...

    That if you change your

    PSU
    Graphics Card
    Memory
    Motherboard

But keep your HDD and CPU

Then you have to re-activate vista

I'm not sure if they can count PSU, but if you change all the others then yea

Memory is a wierd one, its only if you go above certain set boundaries, ie 1.5-2gb would be fine, but 1gb to 2gb can get you reactivating

edit - have you updated the My System bit?

    You changed those things already?

    Gosh.

So you don't need to re-install, just re-activate?

How about just one item at a time, does it catch each one?

Well XP does, so I would guess that Vista does aswell.

I know XP also picks up stupid things and makes you re-activate your PC...I updated my graphics driver and XP said I'd made a significant change and had to re-activate...this meant I had to phone up MS to get them to give me a code as I have OEM XP Home.

Never have I had to reactivate when Ive changed ram or cpu with XP. Saying that, I have had to reactivate several times when updating the chipset drivers on this P5B.

Edit: Ive changed the graphics card loads of times and that has never triggered it for me.

It was strange, I didn't change the card, just the drivers, updated them, and, well Windows is annoying

    Cooling I think

The ram isn't overclocked yet - since the Intel board doesn't allow it - I might move to 680i thing is for CPU overclocks this board is the best

680i gives me SLI but I won't run that
