Recommendations on Case with multiple drive access bays

    guys,

I was looking at getting a coolermaster stacker due to the large ammound of accessable 5.25 bays on the front. A few people have warned me against them, not being a case/modder buff, are there any other options that will allow around 7 - 10 5.25 bays accessed easy at the front ?

    thanks

Mountain Mods UFO, or as Clunk suggested the Lian Li.

What reasons were given to go away from the Stacker? A few people I know have had it and loved it, one bloke only changed because he bought a Lian Li V2000...

clunks looks interesting if not a tad pricy, and also seems to suffer from poor cooling unless you lose some of the drive bays (which I could as I wouldn't need them all) and put fans in.

I've been given the reason of poor cooling on the stacker, the ali frame is prone to bad vibrations

those mountain mod cases look excellent lots of bays and easy to put fans in the front.

Seems hard to find in the UK, I may make a post to see if anyone else wants one or two to try to get the shipping down and split the import if any taxes.

over-clock.co.uk stock the mountain mods, works out about the same as importing one, if i remember right, but when I last looked, the dollar wasnt as weak

p.s. there was also a thread started a while ago in the modding section by Butcher about the mountain mods one, theres a few pics as well.

No worries , what is it that you need all the drive bays for?

    just 3.5" hard disks?

if so, have you considered a Lian-Li V2000/2100.

Holds 12 in the bottom and then theres quite a few 5.25 bays to put them in as well. Worth a look.

the disks sit in a chassis that takes up 5.25 bays, hence the need for the 5.25 bays

In which case the Mountain Mods case would be perfect for you - pretty roomy too

I almost bought a mountain mods, but I saw one of the aluminium ones in the flesh and it was rough as!, The powder coated ones look pretty stunning though

I have zero issues with my stacker. Near silent as you like. ANd it doesnt have an ali frame, so whoever told you that was talking out their backside. I imagine with all the bays full itd be pretty noisy, but youd have 1x120mm fan per 4 hdds, so not a huge cooling issue methinks. Also, if you can get the windowed panel, its a lot quiter than the non windowed one.
