    Not used a Hiper eh? They aren't quite PC P&C, but their damn good and far from cheap.

    While playing about, a while back. it withstood; 2 7950GT's at 660/850, 4600+ @ 3.0, 2x36gig Raptors, 4 250gig maxtors, 2gig PC4000 Ballistix at 3.0v(basically my system + another 7950GT and pushed further than usual) which comes to about 620w according the PSU calculator, and used lamost every connector on the PSU.

    Had no problems what so ever. The PSU fan was on full but the air coming out was barely warm. I'm sure other people with Hiper Type-R's will happily defend them.

    i think 460w should be ok...i swear i saw someone on a forum somewhere that was running a gtx on a 435W PSU.

    all depends on the amps of the 12v rail.

    Getting a psu booster just to run the graphics card and using the other psu for the rest of the system might be a good solution. This one from thermaltake is quite good:

    Is that the one with the 40mm fan ? They make such a horrible noise I couldn't bear it.
