i upgraded to a 4200+ from a 3700+ san diego, and i noticed a difference in speed. the 4200+ zips along, even when im running 41+ processes (like just now) and a gig of ram.

With regards to the 3200+ i'd say perhaps 30-35 for it.

yep should be good step, I stepped up from the 3000 and the main thing was the multitasking, compressing files, encoding and burning dvd's

on a side note - have you thought about displaying your system in the 'my system' section rather than as a big ole sig ?

No, but i'll put it there now.

And I'm running 22 processes and that includes f@h!

if f@h floats your boat then having a dual core cpu will be pretty sweet - you could dedicate a core to it exclusively

25 with opera + vent + other stuff XD
Best thing to do is google each and every one of your processes to see if they are all legit
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Mine are all legit - just run a lot of stuff (CoreDuo 2ghz + 2gb of RAM, so it copes).

Got stuff like PeerGuardian Microsoft/Logitech software/iTunes etc running, + the normal FireFox, SmartFTP, Messenger & the like. I just wondered how you keep it so low without disabling/not running software...
