About LinkBacksSimple (or so I thought), as title says, looking for an external drive bay that will take 2 x 500Gb IDE drives and connect to USB2, doesn't need to support Raid.

It is IDE as opposed to SATA though.
are you sure you couldn't use 2 individual cases.i looked at scan and all they had was a sata to firewire doesn't mean they don't exist

the third "bay" is actually the internal power supply and interface electronics.

Unfortunately is is SATA as opposed to IDE.
problem is that I have the 2 IDE drives already - I can see a bit of DIY taking place with an old conflake box and some gaffer tape......
Or just get two regular single drive boxes?
