    How far could this overclock?

Ok, i know that overclocking a system depends on the individual chips etc, but what sort of overclocking potential should i expect from this

    abit nf7-s
    barton 2500+ wk 36 or 32 (i have 2 im trying )
    512 corsair twinX 3200
    Thermaltake volcano 7+ HS
    128mb Geforce 4 ti4800SE

If i bump the FSB straight up to 200 using stock voltages it runs prime 95 stable, but crashes out of games quite regularly.

Strangely the wk 36 chip seems more stable than the 32...i thought wk 30 ish were the better chips?

Also, what sort of mem timings should i use, i have no idea what any of that means

    Cheers

    Steve

    EDIT: forgot my gfx card

you will most likely need to up the voltage on that chip.

I run mine at 2.2ghz (XP3200 speeds - 11x200) in my shuttle very happily

    What voltage are you at?

That system should overclock very nicely, have top end parts.

Do you have the corsair twinxLL (2x256mb =) 512mb? and you are running dual channel, slots 2 and 3 if you are not.

Play about with the voltages, as the NF7-S does tend to undervolt. Fins something that is very stable then start some real overclocking.

If the corsair is default CAS 2.5, or the LL modules then it will clock nicley at tight timings.

I would say, lower the multipler, and up the fsb (in sync with the RAM.) also put the divder to 6/6 as that is best for nforce2, and the top memory timing to 11 (the rest the lower the better.) Benchmark regularly, when you find the max fsb then up the multipler, until you find the max system clock. You may find you need to add more volts as you go to make it stable, do that slowly, and only if there is a worthwhile performance gain.

Once you find the max look towards better cooling to go further...

Barton XP2500 OC a long way.In almost all cases they will go to XP3200 speeds.

Sounds good. I do have the two 256mb ram chips running dual channel. Mine isn't stable at 200fsb / 11x multi with stock voltages and no ram timings changes.
