    Does such a case exist?

as per thread title, im wondering if such a case, accomodating 1 x mini-itx motherboard + 4xhard drives does indeed exist, and at what cost. I'd like this to be as miniscule as possible.
If someone is handy with metal-working, they can do me one themselves

you could use 2.5" HDDs to save on space which might help you crush a few extras in...but usually it's only 1 or 2 that they say they accomodate.

you could try putting the extra drives into the CD bays of this:

but it'd probably be best to get one big drive (or two if you want to use raid for backup or something?) or to use either a decent NAS box or external drives...?

    How about this one?

You could also fit one of these to the two 5.25" bays to get you five 3.5" drives.

Now this sounds like a cool little board:
    http://www.mini-itx.com/2007/01/18/v...epia-px-at-ces

but knowing how ling it usually takes VIA to get things into production i wouldn't be holding my breath.

It's a different configuration, but the total volume might make a better use of space:
    http://www.mini-itx.com/store/?c=3#m300

And if you fancy getting the dremel out you could always take inspiration from this:
    http://www.mini-itx.com/projects/tera-itx/

In case you are wondering, i really like the idea of miniITX systems and have been looking at building different configurations for different projects for ages

EDIT: and if you want a bit more power in your little box, there is always a Commell Core2Duo board:
    http://www.mini-itx.com/projects/tera-itx/ not cheap though

    thanks for the links funkstar
unfortunately, i've decided against using Mini-ITX, as i dont think its got enough juice to do what i want it to do.
If you're still after a mini-ITX board then you can have mine if you like its an old Epia 5000. send me a PM if youre after it

    Cheers,
    Steve

perhaps, i'll let you know if i ever get time to starting a couple of projects.

    Project 1:
MediaPortal frontend. Possibly based on the Commell board with a Core2Duo. Eventually upgraded with an HDMI graphics card. But that is some way off.

    Project 2:
Making my own digital photo frame
