Hard Drive Help...
Hey guys,
I'm trying to get some data off an old PATA hard drive that used to be in an iMac which has now died. I've plugged it into my computer, and it shows up in BIOS, but I can't access it frmo Windows to steal the data. Is there any way of doing this? I know it's not PC formatted, but there must be some way?
Thanks for your help

I have no idea of the HDD format that is in MACs. There is software that can recover files froma a HDD that cannot be seen in windows. "Get data back for NTFS" and "Get data back for FAT" But I doubt your MAC was running a FAT partition.
I have also used Winternals AdminPak 5.
Sorry not to be much help, hopefully some else can help.

you might be able to get the data back byu using a linux boot disk if it has the correct file system for an old mac. the file system is called hfs+ i think you would be better trying to get the data back by using another mac (osx supports it read and write)
