Asus P5B-Deluxe Onboard Audio

The onboard solution on the Asus P5B-Deluxe is terrible. Lots of crackling/scratching everywhere and just generally sucky. I have the latest drivers installed (4580) but it doesn't seem to help. I also have no case speaker installed either.

Has anyone managed to fix this problem?? I just browse with some music on and it pops and cracks with every click!!

I guess I should ask for a PCI solution as well. What cards are recommended on sound quality?? EAX is not a big thing with me but something that will give a high quality sound generally is what would be most ideal. Any suggestions here??
