Help! Did I purchase the wrong laptop?

hello, I recently (last monday) purchased the Asus F3JA laptop from scan for £800. However, I have just realised, after some research, that my new laptop might not be compatible with 64-bit!!!!

It is running on the Yonah Core, could anyone confirm 64 bit compatiblity?

What do you think I should do? Would Asus' warranty cover an upgrade?

Don't worry, the T5600 is 64bit.

If it's this one, then it's running a Core Duo T2300E, not a Core2Duo:

If it IS this one, it does not support the EM64T extensions, i.e. it is not 64-bit capable.

I doubt that any warranty would cover upgrading the machine.

EM64T (Intel's version of AMD64) is not supported by Yonah. However, EM64T support is integrated in Yonah's successor, the mobile version of Core 2, code-named Merom.

Heh, TBH mate, unless you are desperate to run 64bit apps (of which there are very few, and Vista 64bit driver support is terribly poor) then you won't notice any difference.

I've got a Dell Inspiron with T2500 in it, and its perfectly capable. Will even run the 32bit Variation of Vista if I asked it to
