Problems with X-Fi Fatality

Hey guys,

Well basically my problem is that on the x-fi you get a laod of different features for music eg CMSS-3D and crystilizer etc. Well all of them work on WMP11 except CMss-3D and tbh without it music sounds like crap. But this feature works on all other music players eg Winamp, Creatives own music player etc. But i prefer to use WMP.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I cant see any options in WMP that would have stopped it working in the first place as it did use to work on it!

when u say its not working how do u know, I am curious as I have Xfi and if I play audio in WMP11 (XP not Vista) I can tell the difference if I uncheck CMSS3D within the creative control panel, not a huge difference like with crystaliser but a noticable difference

its when u use 6 channel mode on my speakers (logitech Z5500's) that this option makes the huge difference and music sounds great. But cause i cant use it i have to use stereo 2.0 mode and music just dont sound as good. When u compare winamp with the option on and wmp with it off you can really notice the difference.

personally hate CMSS-3D while listening to music - i have it switched off and ive got the same setup as you do.

Ive got crystalizer at 24% and prologic set at music if you want that 5.1 goodness

CMSS tends to sound like it cuts off at certain sound levels throughout any track i've put through it

I noticed that the sound would cut of too put when i disabled SVM it fixed that for me. I suppose it will have to do ok till i do a clean install of windows

cant stand SVM aswell really too many effects and features detract from the recording.

I like it clear, not overly overloaded with all these soundcard gimmicks
