Thumbs up The cheapest SFF PC I could build!

I decided I wanted something small & neat to sit next to my plasma so I could watch DivX movies, play my music etc. This was instead of the idea I had to stream it all (too fiddly I figured!)

I decided to go with an Asus Pundit as Aria were selling it for £69 (!) & as most of you all probably have I had lots of PC bits lying around gathering dust!

Here we go! (Prices inc P&P where applicable)

    Asus Pundit - £78.20 http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/87365...dit-p1ah1.html
    AMD 3500+ S939 £25 (from Hexus forums)
    512mb PC3200 (already had this)
60Gb WD HDD (already had this)
XP Home £30 2nd hand license
DVD drive - £6 postage to an old mate who had it spare! (not got it yet though!)
KB & Mouse - Currently using a Trust £14.97 wireless kit from ASDA. Microsoft kindly gave me a free wireless notebook mouse though (in the post at the moment) so I'll use that mouse when it arrives!
DVI Cable - Already had this

The Pundit has built in GFX, DVI-out, & a ton of other connections so no need for GFX/Soundcards!

It comes to £154.17 so far & works a treat!
Eventually i'm after another wireless belkin adapter so I can get it on the net but for now, it's my little baby!

ive been thinking about building a small sff or htpc instead of connecting "my system" upto my 32inch widescreen. How does the picture turn out on your plasma. Im always worried it will look stupid

    A 'little' higher!

Screen looks good, my plasma has a max res of 1024*768 & when hooked up looks pretty good, desktop isn't as sharp as a TFT obviously! games & movies look great though!

VERY glad i did this & not just hook up my existing rig to my TV, it's not as powerful but that only affects games really! If i'd have had a bigger (ie £400) budget i'd have gone for a gaming type setup but I don't need two machines that can play HL2 @ full settings now do I?!

Nice one! I should have done that tbh.
I don't even want to price mine up... I just moved my AMD X2 gaming system into a Silverstone case with cheaper gfx.
