is this a good upgrade kit?
Would it cost much more to get better ram and mobo?
Not planning to o/c immediately but will want to o/c the hardware at some point.

I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.
Save your cash mate, bog standard bits with no room for even modest overclocking, which is a shame because that chip should give you 3ghz easy with the right board.
which is the best board for that processor(e4300)?

Do you want to overclock? and how much have you got to spend?
Yes, I do want to overclock. Budget will prob be about £500but if mobo is pcie then I will need to include a new graphics card in that as well.

P5B deluxe (120 ish)
E4300 (110 ish)
geil/ocz 6400 ram (120-130 ish, see bargain forum)
leaves about 150-160 for a graphics card, should be able to get something decent for that
for 150-160 you can pick up an X1950XT or go cheaper and get a X1950pro, both are great cards.
or...take your 6800 out of your current PC, and save up for DX10?
didnt think of that
it is agp, which is what I'm a bit gutted about as it's a great card.

which is better for overclocking, e4300 or 6300?

With slower memory the E4300 is a better bet. There is a 320mb 8800GTS being released soon and it costs around 200 quid and is a DX10 card. It is also a very fast DX9 card too!
