    xp1700 tbred overclocking.

    Hi all.

    See sig for spec.

The xp1700 has been running at 180x12 or something. Yesterday i found i could run the RAM stable at up to 225fsb (450mhz) with 2.8v going through it.

However when running at this speed or 200fsb (400mhz) the processer will not boot at 10x, even with the same voltage as it has at 2.2hz. This is weird becuase 10x200 is 2ghz.

At 9.5 or above it will not boot at 200fsb. However below these multiplers it will.

I believe 2.250/2.3 to be the ceiling on this particular chip, however it doent like 200fsb. Can anyone suggest why it doesnt boot.

I have done 187 benchs (3dmark2k1) looping with it at 8x200 so it is perfectly stable at 200.

Anyone know why i cant run at 200x10, or 2ghz?

    Will

i have a thoroughbred 1800+, and have overclocked to 166*11.5 at the moment. Whenever i try to overclock the fsb anymore, it just restarts and beeps at me, so i just reset the BIOS. I was thinking that it was my very old RAM (about 2 years old), but now I'm not so sure!
