Is this possible with 1 TV card?

I wanna set my PC up to record one channel while I watch another, but from 2 different sources such as my Sky box and the built in turner.

Are there any cards that can do this or will I need 2 of them?

One TV card (unless it has 2 tuners) can receive only one channel at once. There are cards about with 2 tuners, so it looks like you'll need one of them.

Yeah I'v seen the ones with dual turners, waslooking at the Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT originally but they all seem to have only one input so it's either the turner or sky :/

Just use a video capure card? Tv cards are cheap enough to provide digital tv. So just buy a video capture card and the problem is solved :) Two cards one for each job :)

Unless the one card issue is space?

If so then either dual tuner or get a graphics card with video in as well.

If not then a video capture card as digit said. There's no need for a dual tuner card if one input is just video in

Shouldn't be a problem to do this with one card. It's all down to software.

I know the Nebula DigiTV card and software will let you record or view the digital tuner and the analogue capture independently.

Picture-In-Picture is supported along with MPEG-2 recording of the analogue source.

I also seem to think they added the ability to deal with all channels in a DVB-T multiplex at the same time, so in theory you could watch BBC1 and record BBC2 at the same time. Could be mistaken on this point though.

Just in case your're thinking of using Windows MCE, that will only accept 1 type of input, digital or analogue, not both.

I'd much rather have only one card, I've only got 2 PCI slots available and don't want to use them both up if I can help it.

Anyone got any recommendations for cards to look at?
