    Budget quiet AM2 cooler

I'm putting together a v. cheap AM2 system and thought I'd be better off going for the OEM CPU and spending upto £10 on a cooler and saving £10 for a rainy day

I've heard the Arctic Cooling Alpine 64 mentioned in a couple of AM2 builds on these forums and was wondering if that was "quiet" or actually quiet? I've got far too used to my laptop with only a 1.8" hard-drive drive spinning...

Would something like the NorthQ Aluminium UFO Cooler 120mm be quieter? It's only for a 3800+ dual core so don't need uber-power or anything.

    Cheers

always comes out as highest rated air cooler. works very well and it is quiet. I have it's predecessor, the arctic cooler 64 and it kept freaking me out occasionally as the fan kept switching itself off - this was until I realised it was doing this as the temp was such it didn't need the fan on at the time.
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

I have an Arctic cooler 64 (as recommended above) its really quiet and keeps my x2 at 2.6 under 46 at 100% on both cores.

You will not be disappointed with this cooler.
