Vista GPU Recommendations

We're not testing bleeding edge cards here - the fact that the nVidia drivers are still in beta and the mass threats their getting from users should illustrate who's got it right now. I'm neither pro one or the other it's just that ATI got the drivers right far, far sooner and _released_ them too.

Indeed as has been said above: ATI/AMD got their drievrs out, on time, with added functionality and they actually work. nvidia drivers are having a lot of issues.

Not to say I prefer ATI/AMD at all: I quite honestly couldn't care less who's hardware I use. But to have to use beta drivers that are not WHQL certified at the launch of a much-anticipated OS is totally ridiculous.

I agree with your other points - really I was only posting my opinion based on quite a lot of in house testing we do here for our product.

Measurbator is a term for people who are more worried about technical specs and similiar aspects than real world use of anything!

you're implying ATi is better for vista just because they have signed drivers, and that's nonsense. And you're also indirectly critising nVidia for 'no' 8800 driver support (while they do)

Nope.. I made no such implication, at any time. I said that based on my own testing (on several systems) i've found the ATI drivers to be far more complete - "...it's just that ATI got the drivers right far, far sooner and _released_ them too.". I never mentioned the 8800 nor driver signing.
You either aren't reading what >I< posted or are merely substituting other poster's views as my own (I suspect the latter given you're even quoting the wrong person above).

I haven't posted for a whole page (my prefs) and that quote from me was the truth!

Anyone who knows me knows that I couldn't give a flying monkeys which card vendor I use....the 5-6 G80's I have is testament to that. Now if only ATI/AMD actually released the r600.....

Anyway most of this was a valid argument as to why you one hardware manufacturer would be better on Vista than the other.

nVidia finally have their WHQL certified drivers out btw...about time
