"Hey guys, im finnally all set up on my board, got my maximizer installed and such.

This board is freakin fast. its runs 4:5 pretty well too.

right now im in 4:5 at 420x8 (3360mhzz) with 525mhz ram at 4-4-4-12-40 with 2.43vDimm (havent tested lower Vdimm, im certain this ram can go to 550 with 2.4v) But here is the kicker, my hexus pifast times are only 2 secs off my 4ghz times with the p5b Deluxe. thats with 600 less mhz!!! ~27.9 sec on 4ghz 1:1 500mhz ram 4-4-4 on 1333 strap, becomes ~30.09 3.3ghz 525mhz ram 1066 strap.

Also to note - this board offers great stability, pretty much if it boots it is stable, otherwise just flip the easy cmos switch on the back panel. I thought the P5B-D was the easiest overclocking board ever - i was sorely mistaken, this thing owns it, with better performance too.

Right now i am on the beta bios and i havent encountered any bugs at all."

Ok Buff your starting to change my mind. If the lastest beta bios cures the issues with the micron then I'll take a closer look. Thanks for the input Buff.

the latest beta has pretty much fixed the JMicron issues.
The only remaining problem is running a SATA optical on the ICH8R whilst also running an array on it.

So the commando is a good board to get then? Im in the look for a new mobo (for new build) as well but don't want to get a board if I can't hit 400FSB at least. Needs to have IDE RAID (going to RAID two to four CF cards) as well does this mobo have that 2?

Imo you're going to struggle to find a Core 2 Duo that has onboard RAID for 4 IDE.
You might check the nVidia chipset mobos as the nVidia RAID used to span IDE & SATA.

It's either that or I might just buy an add in card. I've seen ST labs silicon image based controller IDE raid cards go for a tenner. What mobos do people recommend for hitting 400fsb easily and has good compatibility with RAM? (sorry bit out of the loop haven't specced a pc in ages) I see alot of people have problems with the Asus so a bit wary (using asus now on my athlon xp and even then that mobo gave me probs) ... MSI are good for easy setup apparently but doesnt overclock well so dunno. Main use for pc will be games and rendering in 3DS MAX... will also probably be going into a HTPC style case so need to keep things relatively cool.

the abit AB9 QuadGT is a flier but it's new & they're still tuning the BIOS so the best BIOS is a beta - don't think that it will be long before there is an official 11 though.

Its working fine on my existing windowz install but can't boot from a CD/DVD (to reinstall) without the machine resetting. Putting this down to the current JMicron issues, will wait for an official BIOS release.
