    Mobo choice?

Well as much as I like my AW9D Max I now need an addtional PCI slot. The only one available on this board has an X-Fi in it. So my choice's as follows

    Asus Commando

    Asus P5B Deluxe

    Asus P5N-E SLI NF650i

    MSI S775 nForce 650 SLI

    DFI Lanparty UT ICFX3200T2R/G RD600

Abit AB9 QuadGT possible but bios from what I have read is still flaky so last resort.

Usage gaming video editing. OClocking is going to be a certainty but on air only.
Currently running E6600 with AC Freezer Pro cooler.
I know it is early days with the 650 and if it has inherited the crap from the 680i I hope not.

    Budget whatever
    Not considering 680i

    Your opinions

Asus Commando This, I should have by the end of the week, so Ill let you know

Asus P5B Deluxe This, I can vouch for 100%, great board.

Asus P5N-E SLI NF650i Dunno yet.

MSI S775 nForce 650 SLI Dunno, but Ive never had any MSI product that didnt die

DFI Lanparty UT ICFX3200T2R/G RD600 Looks great on paper, but its too expensive, some good reports, some bad.

Abit AB9 QuadGT possible but bios from what I have read is still flaky so last resort. Flakier than a Greggs pasty.

P5B would be my recommendation and the only reason that I'm trying the commando is that I have some ram that needs more voltage than the P5B can give

Have a P5B Deluxe and have no complaints; very stable board and clocks well.

Think you should look around for group tests and look oto see which offers the most desired options and is most suited to your needs.

I was having a read the other night, and I found a load of bios problems. I cant remember where I saw them, I'll have a look and see if I can find a link

The BIOS (I'm currently running the beta) isn't flaky.
It does have 1 glaring error at the moment which involves RAID.
If you have to run RAID now don't get it.
If you don't need RAID now/are willing to wait for a fix (which is in the works) then it's a great mobo.

If you're looking at the 650i mobos abit's will be here soon too.
Btw I've got a P5N-E SLI if you want to know more about it (it's not bad but nor imo is it perfect).

I know the AB9 had a few issues, but everything I read on the GT seems very positive.
Need to buy a board at the end of the week anyway, chances are i'll be getting the GT or the fatty 650i.
    We'll see

If the commando works, I might have a nice P5B that I can shove in your direction

I had another read of the more recent posts in that thread and they seem to be loving it now, so I take back what I said about the quad GT. Bah humbug
