    Gaming Rodent Help

I have been using my trusty Logitech MX1000 for the last 2.5 years or so, and having replaced the feet about 3 or 4 times - with only limited sucess I now feeel like an upgrade.

I'd like to stay with wireless, and I quite like Logitechs' product (had MX800 before) Unless I can covince myself otherwise!

I am not a hardcore FPS player - almost solely WoW and Internet use, a little photowork and a little BF2. I have seen the Logitech Revolution MX and thought it looked quite nice or theres always the G7.

    Any experince/pointers is appreciated

I don't like the G7 very much - I'm almost certainly in a very tiny minority with this opinion.
It just feels like it isn't quite responding in time. And I hate the messing about with the After 8 mint batteries.
I like the Razer Diamondback a lot - both for games and photo editting. Razer have brought out 2 newer species of mice since the Diamondback - copperhead and deathadder.
I definitely prefer corded mices for their being smaller and lighter than cordless.

Gordy said he wouldn't recommend the MX Revolution, I'd be tempted jus to get a second MX1000, I haven't found anything better for my needs, mines coming up to 3 years old, on its first set of feet (IceMat PadSurfers )

simple answers for both your questions.

the g7 is a brilliant mouse and despite what has been said above has no lagg at all. and i have used this in compettion gaming and its never failed.

in reply to the feet wearing out buy a cloth mouse matt, for about 20 quid get an everglide matt and then the pads last nigh on for ever. problem solved.

you will find alot of people saying the g7 laggs because it is wireless, thats the typical answer from the ignorant types that think cordless mice havnt changed over the last years. the g7 has the same response as a g5 its not notceable if there is any difference.

and also the battery thing that he has said about above is absouloute rubbish. the battery takes probably about five seconds to change and have the other one back in the charger.

Hmmmmmm Cloth Mouse mat - that's a good idea, probably less wearing than my current Glass Icemat.

I went through a set of replacement teflon feet (padsurfer v2) and 2 strips of padsurfer v1 tape in 6 months!!!

Thought the mat might be a contributing factor.

    You're quite a charmer aren't you?
If I feel that the G7 mouse I've been using for the past 14 months isn't quite responding then that is because that is how it feels to me - and nothing you can say can alter that.
I think that the battery changing is fiddly - the battery doesn't always lock in first time - the locking mechanism just feels like it wants to break.

Gamer with a wireless mouse? *shudder*

Get a cable and never worry about response times, interference or batteries again.

Unless or course, you like to wander around the house with the mouse?

    Me too.
I had a Razor Diamondback and it was very uncomfortable. I got rid after 3 weeks.

I've had a mx700 since release, and not had a problem with interference or response times, evan at LANs.

The only problems are that the charger base has stopped charging, so I rotate batteries using a normal battery charger.

And my feet have all vanished in the last week or so due to playing Raving Rabbids. So I may get some teflon tape and get it fixed soon.
