A Guide to knowing hot monitors work?

    As the title says really...

Looking to get a new rig at the end of march, so i am doing a little hunting here and there, yet the one thing that really has me bogged down is monitors, i dont really know much about them.

I did a bit of googling, but never came across something that was understandable!

Could any of you lot point me in the direction of a guide to LCD/TFT monitors?

    Thanks!
