Do you guys think it's worth the extra to get the stuff with the tighter timings? Is this going to be of any practical performance benefit or will it only be beneficial if you overclock the ram?

Timings at the same speed do not make a huge difference. The tighter timed ones might overclock further though if u reduce the timings compared to the looser timed ones.

I have that memory and it runs great at the advertised timings/speed, but it won't overclock one bit. It is cheap though...........

ive got that ram working fine on my gigabyte ds4, max ive had it running is 486mhz so DDR972 with 2.225v.

Good ram for the price, i bought them when the first came out for £130.

Some people have had issues with them failing but i cant say i have had any issues.

They don't work together properly. Not even when you mess with the voltages. A lot of googling found other people with the same problem between these two components.

I got them working together best at 1.9v (rather than 2.1v) in PC6400 at CAS5 (rather than 4). There was still the occasional memtest86 error tho :| The system sort of worked but would invariably fail prime95. I RMAd the first batch but the second didn't work properly either. Now on a P5B-D and they work fine at advertised ratios.
