Overclocking E4300 - DDR2 667 Vs 800

If I were to overclock a C2D, eg E4300, and I used 667MHz RAM - would it be easy to reach 333x9 = 2.997GHz on the CPU, as far as the RAM is concerned?

Am I right in thinking that the RAM would be running at the correct speed of 333MHz x 2 = 667MHz?

If this is the case, could I use any old value DDR2 667MHz RAM, and still be sure to reach 2.997GHz (assuming the CPU is capable)?

Would 800MHz RAM only be used for much more hardcore speeds to be reached with greater ease?

Yes, your correct, any 667MHz RAM can be used to overclock a 4300 to 3GHz, even value ram can overclock a bit so you could theoretically exceed 3GHz.

If you were to buy 800MHz RAM you could run a divider so the ram is running at 800MHz even though FSB is less than 400MHz giving slightly better performance.

This performance increase is not major tho and probably not worth the extra outlay unless something is on sale.
