    Ebay will be the best place to look for any socket A cpu's.

    2.4ghz is a huge overclock on a xp1700.... already!!!

    Get an unlocked barton or mobile 2500/2600 cpu and overclock it.

    erm the overclocked 2600 Barton was equivalent to around xp3200.

    Consider moving to core 2 duo? You can likely take your current RAM, PCI/AGP cards over if you use an ASRock board. Even an E4300 CPU will be a hell of a lot faster than an Athlon XP 3200+ (top model? Was there an XP 3400?)
