Samsung 205BW Help

Picked up a Samsung 205BW from PC World on Saturday and have just started using it today.

It's making a buzzing noise which I can't stand

1. Anyone else having this problem/do you know how to get rid of it?

2. If the buzzing continues do you think I'll be able to get a refund from PC World.

Edit: was a bit quick off the mark

By increasing brightness to 90 or above, the buzzing disappears but the monitors too bright

Another problem - the VGA connector on the monitor may be loose, if I move the cable it's unable to locate a signal and screen goes blank

I would contact PC world, I have a 205BW and I've never encountered this problem.

I have even taken the brightness from 0-100 and only with my eat touching the screen can I hear a buzzing with the brightness at 0 and the buzzing sound is gone. But as I stated it's completley inaudible (unless my ear is to the screen)

Yep its not the price - its the service - its run by kids with no idea in my experience.

More advice please.

Took monitor back to PC World today and they couldn't hear the buzzing noise. I can understand this as the background noise in store was high.

They offered to swap for another monitor - I declined this option.

They claimed another store had the same monitor in stock so I visited the other store but couldn't find the monitor (didn't ask the staff because they were very busy and I didn't want to wait).

I don't want the monitor as the noise is going to annoy me and secondly I think a 22" screen would be better because the text size will be larger.

What shall I do?

I get that noise from my desk lamp, its some dodgy power regulator. Not a noise from my Screen though, generally PCWorld are fine with returns. Just go in store and shout, i bought a cable opened it up (Screwed packaging in the process) and they still took it back as a "Sign of good will".

They dont refund PC's, only exchange or replacment.

Am I right in thinking PC World and Fujitsu have got the dimensions wrong way round?

Height = 514 (20.25 inches)
Width = 418 (16.5 inches)
