    dont know if this is correct but a while ago i was told about on christmas day in world war 1 (dont know which year) the two armies got out thier trenches and had a ceasefire, they played football and stuff together, and got together for christmas, then had to get it back for boxing day, truely a great christmas spirit...

    It was WWI and was on the Christmas of 1914. German and English soldiers in Belgium stopped fighting and played football I believe...

    My Grandad fought in that war..... Wonder if he was there?
