Can i just clarify that the Messenger service you will be shutting down is not in any way related to MSN messenger although it shares the same word of the english language.. It is the Windows messaging service that is there ideally for communication between members of a network.

This however is open to abuse and can very easily be closed if it is not required. e,g where youve got just one pc. or youve got 3 pcs but dont particularly want to send messages to yourself .

The procedure to follow is slightly different depending on what operating system you are using

Moby: ZoneAlarm is crap compared to other decent (free) firewalls such as Kerio Personal Firewall, which I would easily recommend instead of Zone Alarm.

I've just uninstalled Zonealarm - it was pissing me off too much. Kept activating mid game and screwing up my graphics.

Installed Kerio. Seems good so far, much better than ZA. Thanks for the recommendation.
