I need a MMO game to play... a completely free one

Well, I'm getting bored and it's summer now, so, I need a MMO game to play.

It must be able to run on a bad graphics card (64 mb) and it must be 100% free (I don't mind if there's a part of the game that I can't play that is P2P). I have a pretty decent computer, so most will work on this.

No 2d or text based games. I want a 3d MMO.

I used to play Runescape and liked it a lot, until I got banned. I played Last Chaos for a while, looking forward to being one of the better players in the game, but the PvP amounted to crap. I also played Wolfenstein ET for a long time, but I got bored of it. I'm trying out Anarchy Online right now, it's pretty fun, but I want some more options.

    Anyone have any ideas??

If you can find a copy theres lots of persistent hardwar games going on, will run pretty well on that card, and although its not an mmo in the truest sense, most games run for a good month at least

try lineage2, yes i know its not free but there are private servers you can play on if you want to. many different rates and different mods that make each priv server different.

I forgot about Dungeon Runners, grabbing it now. I do like the NCSoft games must admit. Just got to wait for the client to finish downloading as I have created the account etc.

Must admit this one looks pretty good, kind of like Diablo play I am guessing.

Trash mate, if you liked Diablo then you will like this. It has a cartooney feel to it in the way WoW has. Not sure if you can get into parties on it yet but so far havn't needed to. Controls are a little sluggish so I would control it with just the mouse rotating the camera with the cursor keys. Mouse control allows you to keep hold of the left button to move in any direction instead of just point and click. You can also keep hold of lmb to attack creatures instead of constantly hiiting the attack.

It is very tongue in cheek also. I am currently using a 2 handed longsword and it is called a Massive Cardboard Sword. Axes when looked at for attack speed say freakin fast and so on.

You need to create a master account here first :

    http://www.plaync.com/us/account/

On the link I gave you the bottom one says add game, do this once the master account is created (You can also add a game from within the account management page). Hit that and scroll down to Dungeon Runner and select get it now on both screens. It will issue you a free key and you simply click on the link next to it to add to your account.

Then away you go, download it and get playing. I had a minor problem with ZoneAlarm however. Regardless of whether I started it up from the NCSoft Launcher or Dungeon Runner exe it did not go past the login screen. You need to go into the firewall and allow the Dungeon Runner exe on all occasions and instances or it wont log in.

Overall I like it. It is fun and mindless to play in the way Diablo was. Might not look as great as WoW or Guild Wars and controls are quite sluggish but it doesn't move anything away from how fun the game actually is. If you really like it you can opt to pay $5 a month for it to get better items and stackable potions. However I would be more than happy to purchase this initially and be able to play it like Guild Wars instead of the subscription to be able to use a few different items. All in all though it is worth getting if you like hack and slash adventures like me. Pleased I got it, it has managed to pull me away from Guild Wars !

Ok, I tried that game... but the graphics flickered ... constantly. I guess my gfx card doesn't like it

I didn't play for long because of this, but for the time I did play - it reminded me of Runescape, except the population of the servers.

I'm playing LC a bit again, I kinda like it.

Try Anarchy Online. Should work fine with low end graphics card. Basic game is free. You only pay for the expansions, if you want them.

I've never played Adventure Quest, but it's supposed to be fun. You can pay $19.95 USD if you want, but it's not required.
