    Re: Warhammer Online beta

I'm glad I gave this a miss now, sounds like it's painful. I hate to think what it'll be like when the system goes live!

Still, I'm happily back into EVE now, WoW has lost it's grip on me and I doubt WAR will be able to pull me away either, especially not after what I've been reading here!

    Morning all

I only managed to get a few hours in last night, got up to level 5 with a swordmaster and that was it. I've got a question tho - is anyone else finding the combat system extremely boring? I'm hoping I've either missed something, it's gonna open up and become a bit more varied as I level up, or things will become extremely different with a different class because at the moment I'm not exactly gripped.

    How's everyone else finding it?

Combat system is the same as WOW. I am sure as you gain new moves spells etc it will improve.

PQ's are really great! Have done 3 so far and they really are fun if you get into a group. Only tried 1 RvR and got whipped. The destro players were much better organised. Still- great fun!

    Re: Warhammer Online beta

I agree Menthel having not had time to play much i'm up to level 6 and the PQ's are the best thing i've seen so far, a right laugh and loads of fun

It is a bit of a WoW clone, but they have done the good clone bits of WoW, its much lighter on the crafting front, i can't see grinding for ever occuring in this game. The circle round the base of the player with the pointing at your target, and the pointing at someone shooting you is fab.

It feels light hearted fun and i'm enjoying it greatly. Oh and the flight path situation owns what you have to do in wow.

I look forward to starting proper next week.

PQs are one of my favourite bits in the game. Being able to queue for a scenario (think WoW Battlegrounds) from anywhere in the game is nice too.

Glad you guys are enjoying it. I hope my year and a bit of closed beta helped make it more enjoyable for everyone

Anyone else in for the headstart?

    Re: Warhammer Online beta

The PQ's are a great idea, so is the looting system. Also love the tome of knowledge, so much information contained its quite scary.

On a negative point. I'm suffering random crashes that seem to set my monitor into power save mode then lock up my machine. Having checked my system i cannot find any errors associated with this. Looked at Warhammer Alliance i'm not the only one suffering the same thing. Plenty of people are getting the same thing and random CTD's. I'm hoping that the issue is fixed for headstart, because if i get any during headstart it will be an instant uninstall. Not happy at the moment.

I'll be in the CE headstart so hopefully i'll be playing on Sunday. Don't play order, come join me and TiG on the right side

Just for information. Today's patch has been delayed due to server instability with the new 4.1.1. At the moment there is no information when the new patch will go live in EU.

I've not lost a RvR yet, looks like you'll enjoy lots of death at the hand of the evil side

Ok, so I was trying to ignore this as I don't want to be sucked in and lose my life ala wow... But I wouldn't mind some view points on the below.

I always felt in wow that you had to put lots of time in (raiding etc.) to really get anything out of it. How do you all find those type of feelings in war?

Will the not quite so hardcore player still get lots out of it?

I also assume the sides are not going to be balanced (order vs destruction). Do you all think its going to be another alliance vs horde - 3:1 type affair or is it far to early to tell?

I think its a little too early to think of some of those things. Can't answer Raiding/end game. Ask in a month or two(if i'm still playing)

I think the casual player may get a bit more out of this game than perhaps WoW, by the click of a button you can view all open groups in your area and join them if you wish. PQ's anyone can get stuck into and get some good loot, as long as you contribute enough.

Not sure on the balance issue.

Servers are now back up and will shut down at 2pm today for those on open beta. Patch seems to have sorted out a number of issues, especially the jerkiness. So far had no crashes to report, so hopefully that issue is over.

Hope the headstart goes smoothly tomorrow. They are opening up the HS account at 12 with servers coming up later in the afternoon.
