Yup lucio is spot on, tops are anti battleship weapons. They aren't affected by the missile accuracy skills either, so small targets will take only minor damage, cruises work well across the spectrum in missions.
Mercenary Coalition. One of the biggest and best merc corps has closed up. Shame, met a few of them(BDCI) once ace folks and thoroughly deadly.

Great thing about Eve if you don't like it, it'll probably be completely different in 6 months
Man amarr lowsec is quiet. Totally different from caldari.
For example in caldari lowsec I'd never tab out and type this post Been flying escort on a mining op for a couple of hours now, not so much as a fly by.
And you wonder how I made 100+m on my trial account as an Amarr
I knew amarr was quieter, but it was rather a culture shock when I went exploring last night. 30-40 blind lowsec jumps, no scout, no backup within 10jumps, didn't have a single problem and a plated to death blaster-thron cant exactly move fast.
Even as an experienced PVP'er and people with loads more experience than me, would tell you the same, I'd never make one blind jump in caldari lowsec.
Quite often you'll just wake up in a station you wont even see the system you jumped into and died in
Mining op went without incident someone popped a cyno at some point which got us nervous but they were just passing through and gave us a wide berth. I think I may have found my new stomping grounds
More video goodness. (HD 30ish meg)
Downloading works better than playing in browser. Very purdy.

Yeah there's a lot more PVP now than when I started(not all that long ago). There are still hundreds of high and lowsec systems which rarely see more than one or two people though so it is doable, but requires a lot of head scratching and heading off into the unknown.
Our HQ is in some of the busiest space, we average a wardec a month and 10-15 can flippers depending on how much mining is going on.
During peace time, we maintain the ability to field a PVP fleet in about 90 seconds at our HQ, despite most of our members being 26 jumps away at the mo(thank god for jump clones). We have 3 FC's covering 18-20hours a day.
Our HQ is deliberately positioned so that we have a 5 jump pipeline ahead of us (imagine this is the starmap; 0-0-0-0-0 is a pipeline, very easy to camp, and allows us to fall back in stages) and one of the most dangerous gates in eve behind(EC-P8R straight from 0.5 into 0.0).
Just beyond that gate is a large alliance we have good relations with and an open invite for us to join or them to dec anyone hassling us. Joining the alliance would instantly break any war dec, and most people would consider following us into EC-P8R suicide. We consider this the last resort.
Now for the real kicker, we're not a PVP corp. In fact at the moment our stated aim is to avoid it and built up members and resources. We're carebears. Out of 30members there are maybe 5 that would actively seek PVP. CCP tried to create a cruel, harsh world and quite obviously succeeded
Like I said a LOT more PVP I can see how it would put a lot of people of, but I'm a masochistic kinda guy
Heh, I remember the end of beta/start of release. The Americans were getting really annoyed that it was being released in Europe a whole 3 DAYS before they got it, IIRC; or was some stupidly small time frame.
