oh well you get nothing for nothing these days! Although the higher level skills do take a stupid amount of time even with all 18+ character attributes.

I'll be honest i never liked the idea that people could learn skills without even subscribing. And thus on the other hand they dont allow skills to be queued, however they could allow the latter on actively subscribed accounts. Skill queues would make more sense to me than allowing people to train skills without a subscription. (and before someone says, skill queues could be limited, to stop you never logging back into a char)A long overdue and much needed change will be put in place with the Wednesday, 15 October 2008 patch. Ghost Training, the continuous skill gain on accounts in an inactive or expired state - will no longer function after Wednesday, 15 October 2008.
I can see why skill queue would be nice but I think it would cause more problems than its worth. EVEMon is all you need.

Well i'm in a pickle, i planned as best i could considering i'm still a week old in eve, got a Cruiser for level 2 missions, because it was tough in my destroyer. Currently sat training a skill and have to wait 12 hours before i can use Heavy Missiles, on top of this i'm sure i need other skills in order to use the ship to potential, makes me think its not worth logging in again until at least the 1 i'm doing now is ready in 12 hours but ofc i'll be sleeping soon after then, so feel like i've wasted a whole day now.
Nah, I hate the game dictating when I should log on to change skills. Even though I plan them and can easily select a skill to learn whilst I sleep/work/whatever, having to log on in the morning after sleeping and before going to work is a pain I'd rather do without.
Plus, if you're a newer char like me, there's a lot (and I mean a LOT) of very short skills you want to learn, having to log on several times a day to change them is also a pain, unless you're already playing then it's OK.
we have all had to do it Allen. I think its a bad idea to have a queue, it be abused, there is no doubt .

get those learning skills to 5 and advanced learning skills to 4 this pays dividend's
plenty of long learning skills there for any new starters!
Higgs...Out!
when a newer player I could always find a long skill to train, space ship command, gunnery, drones, hull, armor, weapons upgrades etc will all help you with every ship you fly later in game
I actually found the skill learning management to be quite fun during the trial - because it saves the state of training you can use combinations of skills to always keep learning something no matter how many times you can log in.
Eg if you're out at work for 10 hours a day then I just stuck on a 2 day skill or whatever when I left, then when I come back switch to a 1 hour skill, then start another and if it's not finished by the time I'm done then I'll switch back to the long running one overnight, and so on.
yes, the small ones are good. It makes you feel like your achiving..... I am on a 14 day skill

4 days, then 31 days
I have some 30 days skills that I am training in parts (for my Hulk)
by the end of the month I will be in a nice little covert ops ship with some good skills for scouting.

Interesting thread on the eve forums. Ask CCP Zulupark anything you want. Interesting read and a good place to whine about something you don't like and get a dev answer
