    Re: EVE-Online

There's a 70odd page thread over in SHC regarding the BoB thing Spent all day reading through it chuckling.

I keep wanting to go back and start playing again but every time I remember the skill system and how annoying I found it .

So much goes on though in the eve universe.

    Re: EVE-Online

BOB has reformed under the name Kenzoku and got sov 1 back in a lot of their systems. Still going to be a while before they can get the Sov 3 required for cynojamming. Should be an interesting week in the south.

See i'm not even playing, but this story is great. Whether BOB deserved it or not its still pretty lame on all those 100s of players that are now left without a Clan/Guild/Alliance, i highly doubt they were all bad apples. However much this is the way of the game i just think its quite sad, but maybe thats me i'm going all carebear or something, but communities like BOB i would assume BOB has been built up over many years and seeing that all destroyed because one of your trusted mates decides to disband the Clan/Guild/Alliance, thats kind of disheartening for them, dont you think.

Yeah he's claiming responsibility doesn't mean he's actually responsible

Most of the information about how it happened is coming from the goons, which means it should be taken with an entire saltmine, especially when it comes from CAOD. There's still masses of speculation and claim vs. counter-claim by both sides. For example according to RL friends one of the guys owning the account used is currently on basic training with the military. No-ones really sure how the second defector plays into it all etc etc. Much of this information will never be known. Either way one thing is certain BOB/Kenzoku's enemies have a month to kill them before their defences are fully rebuilt and by all accounts are trying their hardest.

You're right though, you just don't get this kind of intrigue and betrayal in any other game. Great isn't it?

Even better, I can re-sub tomorrow and will only be a few jumps from the action (once I've undone all the logistics for the 2minute war guh)

I forget which site it was Shack or Kotaku maybe, but i read somewhere how they said about this story making Slashdot and they made a joke about how it could be a PR stunt by CCP, a kind of viral i guess But i doubt that, just reading over all those forum threads, and comments on various site, this runs deep.

Nah CCP don't need to, the players come up with far more devious and interesting ways of screwing each over than the developers ever have. Including corp thefts worth 6 figures in real money.

    Re: EVE-Online

That was an interesting listen chuck... it's quite interesting how this is all turning out.

Although I disagree with what was done (i.e. 1 person being able to completely take down a whole Alliance) it certainly adds a bit more risk into the game. I somehow think that CCP will now change this so it requires a vote, like most other Alliance/Corp functions.

What I like most about it though was listening to the two of them speaking together, although a few cheap shots were landed by both parties, it was mostly quite civil... Quite something for 2 Alliances that have been at war with each other for such a long time. I also admired Dianabolic's (or ex-BoB's) response to the situation... "bring it on!". Kudos to them.

    Re: EVE-Online

Think its got to the point that I need to join a corp, have spent the last few days sneaking around 0.4 trying to grab some cash and failing big time. First ship was down to being yelled at by wife at the wrong moment, second go was bad luck when I jumped to a nearby system and got pod killed at the station, and last glorious death was not looking before leaping. Came through a gate to be presented with lots and lots of flashing red and a pod kill, oops. Luckilly had just insured and upgraded the clone

Would it be possible to join friendly corp with people on here? Have voice, only thing is that I cant be on every night so needs to be casual.

    Cheers

Sounds like Ekchu may suit you Flibb, it certainly suited me (casual, friendly, fun, get to kill things, get to learn from experienced players etc).

I haven't been online myself a lot lately due to OS and client problems, reinstalled today so should be a bit better. Hopefully my tooth pain (or lack of) will allow me to play later when I finish work at 11pm.
