    Re: EVE-Online

So is it wise to hold off downloading the client then. I played Eve for around 6 months then left it as I was always away working but wanting to go back to it. Just downloaded the latest premium graphics client. Is there a new one due in the next few days? If so I will hold off before installing.

The client will let you download a 1.4Gb patch now. My mate also wanted to try it yesterday, but I told him to wait until I've updated, then he can just have a copy off my hard drive.

    Re: EVE-Online

LOL I just downloaded a 1.4GB client from the EVE site, so when I log in I have to grab another 1.4gb client LOL man it's getting worse.

Gonna go back to it for a month and see if I can get back into it again, only at the early stages as I only put in a few hours a week with it for the 6 months I played.

    Re: EVE-Online

Patch is out, just open the client and it'll offer it to you.

They've opened a special patching forum during the DT here http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard...nnelID=1014532

As for whats it's wise to do, my advice would be to apply the patch. Now they've released it, it means come hell or high water the next time the servers on it will be as apocrypha. My comments earlier seem to have made you all a bit jittery, I was only explaining the logic behind not putting the client patch up the second the DT starts. There's nothing to be worried about.

Thanks for the info, I am coming back to this game as a relative noob as I have almost certainly forgotten what I was training last time and no doubt I will have to sit down and work it all out again. Will be weird going back into it solo. Hoping a few of my mates join up again.

Join a decent corp, it makes the game much better. I know agent and folks have Eckchua(butchered the spelling of that I'm sure) and I'm in a corp called BBK, but I think I'm the only hexus member in that one. Even if you don't join up with someone from here, find a decent corp who have a similar playstyle to you and you'll have a lot more fun in the game. Just don't join the very first corp who offers to let you in, there's thousands out there.

Yup patch is it out just over a gig for the main one, and then you'll get a second smaller one of 10mb. I'm getting 700kB/s on the download so far so good

EDIT: All done, no problems. Just waiting on the server now. Scheduled to come back up at 4.

    Re: EVE-Online

Well I thought I may as well make a post in this thread considering:

    a) Jay was the one who got me addicted to this game - thanks mate
    b) I am really looking forward to this new patch

Well I've already downloaded the first part of the patch and just waiting for the second part now - feels kinda like Christmas Just hoping that the servers will be up close to 16:00 considering they were about 1hr out on their estimate for the availability of the first patch

Anyway a big o/ to my current corpies in Eckhuah and to my old corpies in BBK

Awesome little story line, well worth a read (although you may need to copy & paste it into Word to avoid going blind reading white text on a black background!!), it brought a tear to my eye.

And as I expected, I was downloading the patch from the premium to the latest build and was also downloading Chribba's torrent of the new full build, but my internet connection has gone down at home. Here's hoping that it comes back and carries on downloading automatically through the torrent at least, otherwise I won't be in game until tomorrow!

Our prober was supposed to be last out, but it didn't happen, someone jumped, a couple followed, WH collapsed. 8 RR BS sitting in WH space with no way home. Self destruct button got used.

The hardest bit is how fast the Sleepers switch aggro and the raw DPS of their BS. I was warping in first with a buffered mega, 40k armor resists in the 60's. Normally I'd hit 40-50% armour before the reppers got to me. So that's 20k(+resists) armour gone in the time it takes to warp a couple of AU.

You gotta be on the ball with the rep or they'll tear up a BS.

Want my advice, go for it, it's a laugh and PROBER LEAVES LAST

Where about are you guys atm?, it looks like we might be "looking for a change" (I'll go into more details in game - don't know who's reading the forums ) at some point in the future.
