I would be happy to add my slightly biased opinion to any EvE online discussions. Biased because I love this 'game' a bit too much.
I was talking to the financial director of one of the UKs largest gaming companies today (he’s not a gamer) and was desperately trying to think of a way to describe EvE, failed epicly and decided to leave him to his work before I got kicked out of his office

It's sort of a problem created by its own success though. I haven't been an eve player long but the in game economy is so strong I think this will become more common place over the next year or two.
Heh 3rd most read story on the BBC atm, not even the biggest robbery there's been. If he hadn't been soft and let his board talk him into lots of safety measures(mainly designed to stop him doing this) he could of had the full 2trillion.
Any Eve online players tempted by the twitch based Jumpgate Evolution!? Its not got the complexities of eve, but I'm hoping it has a wide skill range like good FPS games online.
I love the idea of a skilled pilot with a low level taking out a high level player whos not so skillful.
Not sure about Jumpgate, looks nice with the controls, but I doubt it'll be a touch on Eve!
He "let his board talk him into safety measures" because this was not meant to be a big scam for him. Things were going tits up and it was a split second decision for Ricdic. He wasn't planning this whatsoever.
Besides, even if it was, do you think it wouldve gotten this big? I seriously doubt it.

I normally do my missions in Sasoutikh and hang out in 9uy-4h when I'm in 0.0, if you want to come down you'll have docking permission and the prices aren't to bad(50k for BS).
