    Question about WOW trial account

    Hi,

Quick question about the WoW trial: can I download the trial in advance and then have 10 days playing from a later install date? Or is it 10 days from the download date?

It says you have to create an account before you can download the game, so I'm not sure if the 10 days starts from then, or from when you first log into the game.

    Thanks!

Patch mirrors - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft

if you download from the places listed there you an download then install whenever you fancy.

to save me installing 9 CD's and goodness knows how many patches, i have just downloaded the wow installer, the burning crusades add on, and the 2.3 patch, once they are install you can get straight on.

Re: Question about WOW trial account

The 10 days start from the creation of the account.

Blizzard purely suck in the arena of account time. Last year I spent £25 on 3 months of play, but because I was busy with uni I couldn't play, and when I called blizzard to freeze my account (An option most MMOGs allow for those who know they won't be using thier account for awhile), apparently they couldn't do this, or refund my subscription. So yeah, they literally took my money and ran, that was the final straw for me with WoW, which is why I'll never play again.

Re: Question about WOW trial account

The only restrictions on trial accounts are on playtime, level and trading iirc.

I've been grouping up with friends I've set up with trial accounts a mere few months ago.

Re: Question about WOW trial account

There's definitely a restriction. Only subscribers can invite to group - if all the people you're playing with are on the trial account (including yourself) you can't group

As far as I know this only came in recently.

Re: Question about WOW trial account

I don't think being annoyed with Blizz will do a anything, they dont care.

I think the biggest restriction I came across was a limit to 10 gold.

They will start to care when they lose many thousands of accounts to Warhammer and Conan online.

Re: Question about WOW trial account

They don't care about customers, just humbers, like number with dollar or pound symbols next to them, or cumulative accounts. They NEVER state active users, but always total accounts.

At least Second Life doesn't hide it's numbers:
