Well that part is actually a 2D bitmap Zak, the reall impressive stuff is the detail of the exterior 3D models, and some of the ground vehicles are insanely detailed - and not a polygon in sight

Here is how mad it gets - not only does it model ground vehicles perfectly, but it even models the shells they are firing

    On the right lines m8.

Its actually part of the reason why the Flankers + Migs have the best ejector seat in the world. Those cylindrical tubes either side of the head-rest house telescopic booms which shoot out rearward as the seat leaves the aircraft, on those booms are mini-drogue chutes, the whole gizmo stabilizes the seat as it leaves the aircraft and enables the seat to separate from the pilot and the main chute to open that bit quicker.

Clear example - Paris Airshow , the pilot ejected at 200ft, inverted and in a dive, yet still the seat was able to fire him clear and open his chute as his feet hit the ground.

Even the Yanks enquired if they could fit the K-36 seat to their new F-22 Raptor fighters.

Anyways - bit o' trivia for you - makes the game more interesting eh ?
