    Joystick Problems

Some of you may have heard me moaning bout my joystick making me do snap rolls to the right all the time...

I still consider this is to be a relatively new Saitek Cyborg 3D ... check this track out. Im just parked at the airbase.. and have done nothing but start the engine and change my view to look at the control panel.

Im not touching the joystick at all.. and indeed the joystick on my desk is perfectly stationary.. all the in game movements are being caused by something else...

I have to fly all the time with these extra movements being input out of my control..

Anyone got a any tips... or is it time to chuck this thing away?

Cos if so.. I shant be buying another of the same model

    Download the small track here

    S!

Is that the same as my old 1? If so everytime I fired the PC up for the 1st time I had to twist the rudder a few times in 1st game, wiggle flaps, throttle up and down as it recalibrated in game everytime. Sounds like a calibration thing possibly. How does it compare to the green/red box thing?

its a pain m8... makes no odds on calibration.. or which Usb port I use...

It doesnt appear to be a calibration thing... it just does sporadic really drastic movements to the right...

Physically.. the joystick handle aint moving on my desk.... but the signals its giving out to the PC are such that its giving the impression that I am.

I can sit and watch the calibration screen... or the ingame red sqaure/green square thing.. or in the cocpkit.. and I see the same thing.

GOnna strip it and clean the contacts.. then after that its an x45 for me

fiddle about with the joystick settings in FB. Dead zones, and all that.

Or you can just go and buy that X45

Hat, am I right in thinking that the Cyborg 3d has optical input sensors? if so, there could be a bit of dust clogging the slotted disk up, and that will cause erratic movement.... HP inkjet printers have the same problem......

The throttle lever snapped off on mine, probably from having to always hold it so far up to get 110%

I would get an x.45 but I'm skint lol

Sorry m8, my view is that it is knackered. Plenty of evidence to suggest a Joystick only lasts a year and with all the flying you have done recently my money would be on "general wear and tear".

    How old is it?
Since about 18 months ago Saitek sticks have had a 2 year warranty.

Hat's stick wouldn't qualify for return under warranty..... I'm sure there's a clause somewhere stating "Normal use"
