    I know I'm only a n00b...

    Me again.

Right, I'm OK with taking off from an airfield, I'm OK with landing on an airfield. I can pull off a few manoeuvres (easy ones) and have somehow managed to shoot down a few enemy planes which were probably just dummy targets.

I've found the training videos really helpful to get this all done in the few days I've been playing it. So I thought, right, time to move on to the A-10 bombing training... WTF!?!

Is it me or does it just talk complete and utter nonsense? I can't understand what they are talking about. And as for showing how to use the radar and where to actually find the targets... well, I haven't the foggiest!

Where can I get some decent help with learning how the radar works and how to actually select the weapons and targets? I know there is SOOOO much to learn, but what are the basics?

And on one of the A-10 videos, he crashes after 2 mins but still carry's on talking and moving the mouse! LOL! Perhaps that's something to do with the version now being different (1.01 I think).

A10 doesn't have a radar Al, (the gun takes up too much space !)

Also none of the training missions work in the patched game, you should learn all the training missions before patching.

If your targets have been designated in the mission planner, you will get a triangle over them (and a little cross through that triangle telling you which direction to fly in to see them if they are off your HUD)

The triangle is simulating the target being 'lasered' by either yourself using a pave-penny pod slung under your wing, or by a freindly ground / air unit.

If they have not been designated, you need to rely on the mk1 eyeball m'fraid

Your RWR - the round thing on the right will display enemy radar signals - essential for telling the direction of a SAM threat or Shilka, once you know the direction of the threat you can use your maverick display to pick out the threat at long range.

Ultimately the hog is designed to go very low and knock out enemy tanks in visual range, so get used to using your eyes to pick out the bad guys and deal with them.

This lack of avionics and reliance on visual cues is partly the reason why A10s have their fair share of blue-on-blue incidents.
