Re: Dawn of War : Soulstorm

i got it, an ok expansion. it feels like a complete DC copy and the aircraft added are not well thought out, the Sisters of battle sound crap and the buildings build much like imperial guard, DE i didnt play yet but i didnt like them in the demo.

Worst expansion yet imo, needs a huge patch for balances asap.

I've ordered it but not had it arrive yet :/ I heard they've finally done something about the necron's being stupidly overpowered?

it needs patching. The campaign mode isn't that great. They should have made Tyranids. Not the best expansion ever. Still mustn't grumble, it's good of them to keep supporting the game and bringing out new races.

Re: Dawn of War : Soulstorm

Its ok, but Dark crusade is much better and it has to be said that after playing the original game, then two expansions , this feels long in the tooth and dated. Company of heroes is more up to date, better physics, units and engine....

They should have left it at dark crusade and re-written a new engine.

Re: Dawn of War : Soulstorm

Dark Crusade was fun, but the necrons were vastly overpowered.

Didn't stop me from killing my friend when we were playing multiplayer (eldar vs necrons. I built a webway gate in his main base, waited for him to send troops to attack me, then waltzed into his base with 4 units of banshees and the farseer council and destroyed his HQ to win )

I like Dawn of War best out of all of the series. Even though it's limited in races and other stuff I found it quite a good game.

Looking at everyone saying all this about Soulstorm I doubt I'll bother playing it.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War® II

Check this out. Looks like soulstorm was nothing more than a bridge to this...

Re: Dawn of War : Soulstorm

Soulstorm is what it is really, was never meant to be anything more than just an introduction of two new races. Its as good as any of the other race introductions i reckon. Apart from the stupid bugs i still really enjoy the game.

Until bugs are sorted automatch can be a waste of time. Hotfix has been in the QA process for weeks.

In those pics of DOW2, everything looks really shiny....greased orcs?
    Love the terrain though.

Re: Dawn of War : Soulstorm

So I may be a bit behind but I only just found out that Ironlore have got bust. So does that mean no patch for soulstorm?!
Would be a shame as I only just got around to finishing the campaign and I'd liked to have tried the new races online (bugs and all!)
