I don't know what your system specs are, but I can tell you how it runs on mine.

I've got a Q6600, X1950 XT PE and 2gb of ram, running on XP. I run at 1900x1200 and I can't play the game on med settings. It's ok on med outside of the cities, but as soon as I enter one it becomes a complete lag fest.

I've ordered 4gb of ram today to see if that helps at all, if not I'll be getting a new GFX card as well this week.

Really enjoying the game at the moment. I've got my guardian up to lvl 21 and my barbarian to 17. I've not tried any PvP yet as I'm on a PvE server. There are still a few issues in game at the moment, like the traders are still not working, but it's still in early access so I guess everything will be fixed for retail release on Friday.

i have a p4 3.2ghz northwood 2gb of ram and a 7800gtx agp card :P

what are the chances of me running this on medium at 1680xres? is this game more demanding them say umm cod4?

Never played COD4 on the PC, but from what I've heard it's not a very resource hungry game.

Don't have any experience with 7800's either, look up how that compares to my GFX card and if it's much better then I'd say yes, you have a good chance of running it on med ok. If it's not much better than a X1950 XT PE then I'd say no, as I have a better CPU than yours and the same amount of RAM.

did you try out the beta or teh retail? i have heard that the retail runs alot better then the beta version.

also does it realy take up to 25gb of diskspace for the retail version? yes cod4 wasnt a hog fest BUT cod4 looks ALOT better then aoc graphics wise BUT aoc is more of an open world game like gta4 so i suspect it will have similar performance between the two.

I pre-ordered AoC from Play.com, so I got 6 day early access to the full game. I never tired the beta.

Yea it takes up a lot of space, 23.9 gig my install is at the moment. That will rise with patches and so on in the future no doubt. Don't really see this as a problem though, it's not like HDD's aren't big enough or cheap enough these days.

As far as the graphics go, I'd say AoC is a lot more detailed and demanding than COD4 and I'm not sure how you are comparing it to GTA4 as that's not out on PC yet. A £600 PC from PC World can run COD4 well, a mate has a one and he's happy with it. I've no doubt that AoC would bring his PC to it's knee's crying on medium settings.

Only way to find out for sure is it try it :) Buy it and give it ago, if it does to run to your liking then you can always put it away until you update you comp or sell it on.

I have played both the Beta, and now currently playing the retail client (early launch)

I can confirm the retail client is a definite improvement over the beta which you would expect anyway, but most noticeable improvement is that load times have been cut in half in retail, and im not seeing any particular lag issues that i had experienced when entering densely populated areas like tortage. Also graphically on the same settings i used in beta it looks even more amazing now in final client.

The launch last saturday is probably the best/smoothest launch i have seen in any mmo so far (and i have experienced wow/lotor/ao previously as well)

Comments on if it is a wow killer? well in my opinion it is. Not everyone may agree ofc, but with many of my ex wow guildies cancellation of wow accounts - i am clearly not the only one. You only have to read wow forums as well to see the posts (those that Blizzard have not deleted yet) stating that people are leaving.

This game is of course not 100% perfect (what is?) but for many that have experienced it they are clearly hungry for more :)

well if indeed it has had the best launch of a mmo then surely thats a good sign right? i mean lets compare wow when it first came out to aoc now. was wow more buggy or more polished then aoc at launch?

yea i could buy the game now and see how it runs. im planning on buying a nehalem/9900 system next year

I'd say that the wow UI was a lot better than Conan's is at launch. Can't really comment all that much on the launch of Conan because it still has not happened yet :) That's tomorrow. There was another patch for the EA version last night which has fixed a few things.

Not very good. I have a A64 3200+, 2GB of DDR400, X1950Pro 512MB and won't be continuing with the game when my Early Access pass expires until I upgrade. I was down to under 10FPS while in a group :help: Get between 23-31FPS playing by myself.
This is on Windows XP using LOW settings and 1280x1024 resolution.

Shame really, as right now I'm enjoying AoC more then any other game since PlanetSide which is my all time favourite game.

Anybody got any Trial Passes they'd like to share? :p

so live starts today, i had early access but only managed to get 4hours playtime in!
oh well at least i am fully patched up and ready to play. dont have to wait for my game to arrive either :P

Those playing it: how are you finding class balance? Heard a lot of conflicting reports on how effective the classes are/feel.

Getting quite bored of WoW, class balance is one of the issues bothering me, just don't want to jump from one imbalance to another.

Tge classe balance will need working but its fun :d
