Right pilot.....look forward to your life improving a million times now that FB is in your grasp....but....and its a BIG BUT

Its a steep learning curve..steeper than the mens downhill in the winter olympics, and frankly....just as skiddy

So...here the basics....

I= ignition....engine takes a few seconds to start....dont forget propellors twist and it twists the plane
B= Brakes.....hold it down for more effect....but you can nose plant it on landing
F= flaps up a stage
V= flaps down a stage
G = Gear up or down
R= Radiator open in various stage

F1 is in cockpit
F2 is a moveable position..always starts back/left ..use the mouse to move around and left click and move to zoon in and out
F3 cool flyby
F8 right behind your plane view


Set up your vid card quite low....improve it later on. Lets get airborn man..straight into the air.

main menu..choose Quick mission....you are the top one....choose LAGG3 1941 Leave your skill as whatever is set. Difficulty should be middle.

Below are options to choose friendly.....choose the first one, change the amount of them to 4
Next to that, choose the aircraft.....scroll right down to TB-3 (thats a big Russian bomber, very old) Set it to ROOKIE skill

DONT SET ENEMIES......

find altitude near the bottom left....choose 3000 metres.

Click on FLY....it'll load...you'll be in cockpit.....fly in a nice circle until you see the friendly bomber....

go shoot the little buggers down...cos its friendly the will shoot back less

see how much ammo you have, go external a few times to see how cool you look.

Hit T for wing tip smoke for added cooolness......

go do some damage mate

Cheers Zak, only just read your post - been blowing stuff up - Not doing too badly (I do own the first IL-2), just completed the first mission on an IL-2 campaign, couple of ground kills, couple of bombers in pieces (used the rockets by mistake - vapourised them!)..... I'm impressed with it so far (but heck, I'm still impressed with the first one!), and had a couple of other dogfights with mixed success. NIce and smooth - esp compared to my recent outings on LO:MAC, still love tankbusting in the A10 tho
