    New star wars mmorpg

What do you think about the new Star Wars MMORPG?

Early days but Bioware are doing it with BIG financial backing (rumour has it more investmant than any other MMORPG to date)

    Re: New star wars mmorpg

Lets hope the learnt the lessons from the original SWG mmo. Star based MMORPG's just haven't to date had the monster success of WoW.

Best is EvE with ~350k subscribers. Somewhat an impressive achievement but Star Wars has so many issues, they either want to be a jedi or a bounter hunter and really you need a bit more. So many challenges to overcome, and while i do have a lot of respect for Bioware, are they really in for the long haul years worth of development and will they be able to pull it off?.

Guess we'll have a few years to watch yet?

if anyone can do it, bioware can. Id rather have not seen the announcement now though as i have to follow it eagerly. Its going to be a game where no one is a healer though as they all want lightsabers, suits me though as it will be easy to get a group hehe.

I just hope it doesn't become another force-fest letdown :/

The KOTOR games were great fun, Bioware seem to know what they are doing and Star Wars has alot of cool things to lend to the MMO. I'm a big WoW player at the moment, but I'll certainly be looking to give this a try once its in Beta.

    Re: New star wars mmorpg

Don't let us down and follow the SWG path. SWG was great fun until they introduced Jedi (or atleast made it obvious and easy to get). However it is difficult to have a SW universe without them and how do you justify choosing who can play Jedi?

This does look good, and I agree SWG pre CU and with the dumbing down of the Village Trials/Holocron it pretty much died after that.

Set thousands of years before the movies, that could make it interesting.
