    well... further to some 'ard thinking... if I can scrape £200 out of my coffee tin at the end of the month, a shiny new 9800 pro will be winging it's way to a good home on the Isle of Man

    If you can get one mate DO.....

    Forget comparings its 3dMarks in comparison to its cost......it is more money per point than a 9600Pro or whatever....

    but...to see it in action is ...well....its sexy

    Make sure its a Pro.....and where is it gonna be £200 mate?

    I'll supply the other £90 out of me paycheck. It won't feel so bad if I can get the £200 out of my "spare change" pot y'see It's the only way I can justify spending £300 on a video card instead of some new wheels for the Landy. But I must have graphics, and the Landy's already got wheels on it...

    We'll see what we can find for good value for ya.

    I am NOT a big spender on Vid cards...I always have one or two down from the top....but this time I regret it

    9800 is fantastic

    As far as gfx's cards go I spend £200 every 2 years, I bought my 8500 when they were new and thats about 2 years ago, thing is tho it still does what it wants n I'd rather have a shuttle than a 9800

    Actually Trig I go with ya on that......a shuttle is so convenient..having built Sair's little MSI Hermes I now know that small is the way forward....

    BUT...and its a big but ...my Rad8500 was good too...my Rad 9600Pro is really lots better, buy quite a margin.....and the 9800Pro is so far ahead of THAT its hard to grasp.

    I am very rarely impressed to this point....I have seen and used loads of stuff......but THAT 9800Pro in my PC was just phenomenal

    8500 at 275/275 = 100 points
    9600Pro = 175

    9800Pro = 250 in most apps......but 350 with 4x AA and 8x Anisotropic Filtering in IL2

    The fact that it runs it so well, so smoothly, with ALL the stuff on.....gives it a monster lead.

    My 9600 Pro runs some games with AA and AF set quite high...but not IL2

    But that 9800Pro was unflustered by the mammoth load I put on it. Silk.
