Ok folks heres the briefing for tonights mission. what time do people want to fly?
Intelligence has discoverd that the russians are preparing to test fire a new design in ballistic missile that if successful could tip the balance of the war in their favour. The site consists of two sections, the missile launch site which is on a outcrop of land and then across the water from it (approx 11km) is the radar tracking and observation station which is setup to monitor the launch. The radar station has no air defences that we know of, but there is a division of tanks stationed there. The missle launch site has a shilka AA gun near it to try and put off any potential threats.
The whole missile area is close to a russian airfield. This has some Mig29s stationed there (as well as some more shilka AA guns) For the durarion of the test there are also two surviellence prop planes based there and they will be monitoring the launch from the air. These planes will also be backed up by at least one if not more mig29s.
The mission will consist of a flight of 3 A10s and a F15. The F15 will fly ahead and destroy any airbourne threats so as to allow the A10s to come in and destroy the objectives. The two primary objectives are the missile launch vehicle and the radar observation station. They have been lased by friendly forces and so should be simple to hit. Obviously the shilkas will need to be neutralised before any attack can be made. A secondary objective is to destroy the tank devision. The F15(or A10s if the F15 is unable to complete) is also required to destroy the two survillence planes.
Good luck.
