I kind of want it.

But ArmA was terribly, terribly, terribly buggy when released, and the fixes were slow and not complete. Really the 'game' part was a write off, and instead the modding community took over and used the engine and produced some pretty incredible stuff.

Hopefully they have done a better job with ArmA 2, but I'm not sure I trust them enough anymore to throw cash at them. Might be a try before you buy jobby, hopefully there will be a demo out.

Before you know it you're standing in a tent in a Forward Base listening to a commander deliver a speech that basically boils down to 'Why don't you guys spend a few days exploring the local countryside, quizzing locals, shooting insurgents, and joining in any random skirmishes you happen to come across?' It's Oblivion with assault rifles.

Having had a play through the boot camp sections of the game I seem to be struggling to find all the nice screen shots that seem to be popping up. I have EVERYTHING up full and while the graphics are nice I am slightly disappointed in the GFX. I suppose after some single player games we have had over the last 8 months a MP game with the size of the maps cannot have the extreme hi res textures and models. In saying that I am sure by the time some of the mods arrive that might change. Looking forward to getting a good coop and MP game. That is where hopefully this game will rock. I really need a new MP game.

When this was uploaded to a newsgroup indexing website the other week people were saying its a machine breaker a la Crysis, i hope this has changed with the patches as i was looking to pick it up.
