In game typing is done via the / key.

There are several different channels which are relevant for in game VOIP and also the text chat. You can cycle through these channels using , and .

I think the current channel you are using also affects who can see what you enter on the map.

I wont be getting home until a little later tonight, might jump on and have a game, see if I can spot things this time.

Over at the OCUK server i had a blast online. probably the best experience i have had so far online. we began the long day mission at night and the experience and teamwork with these OCUK was phenomenal. lots of people was talking via VOIP, loads of us working as a team and overall the game felt like i was literately in a proper military mission! it was tense and exciting!

Got this yesterday through steam, havnt had a chance to play yet.

Well my joystick arrived and I've set it all up. What a difference! Being able to constantly pull back on the stick has made manuevering 10x better especially in the planes. I'm guessing I'll be a lot more combat effective now :)

I may have to dig out my joystick and get it setup, found it really hard attempting to fly using keyboard and mouse.

Choppers are manageable with mouse/keys but fixed wing is pretty much useless for combat. You can't pull a consistent turn so dogfighting or evasion is pretty much impossible.

Well with the choppers I can fly "ok" but when it comes to stopping..I cant..then when I try hoving the damn thing just goes round in circles and any move of the mouse sends me to earth with a thump!

Warfare - tried it once, didn't think that much of it compared to Domination. Might look into the new version in A2. :)

Devastation mode is currently peaking my interest, it's PvP in the style of BF2.

cool. how does Devastation work? is there a link that explains all the game modes of arma 2?

Picked this up yesterday great fun... when it works.

I seem to be getting every single bug. Dived right into the multiplayer after 4 hours I hadn't made it to end of a match, because of one bug or another. Tried single player good fun, but it all unravelled when I reached "Manhattan". I was expecting a few bugs and tbh a few in a game this big and complex wouldn't have bothered me, but for me it's just unplayable at the moment.

Real shame as I love it, I really do, but that just makes the bugs even more frustrating.

/me forlornly kicks a can around til the next patch :(
