If you have vista, don't bother with number 1, no 2 will be released before you get it working. Bought the gold version a while ago never got it working with vista 64 and gave it to a mate. As for mods, i'd quite like to know that too.
You can easily see some forums on google search with some info but don't seem to be very new user friendly.

Yes, extremely vista unfriendly. Although what really bugged me at the time was their previous game in Operation Flashpoint does work with vista. Played that through a couple of times in vista 64.
Only 12 days to wait for the next one though, hopefully play will get it to me on time........

I play ArmA gold edition with no troubles with Vista 64 what so ever. I think there was issues until SP 1 came out.

I tried the gold edition post SP1.............
It's a well known problem with the game, if you check the tech support at Bohemia interactive it's awash with the same complaints. Mabee you just got lucky?

ArmA 1 is fine with Vista64.

I'd get ArmA 2 though. Yes, there are bugs but the developers were still tweaking ArmA 1 and improving it for two years. They didn't just release the game and walk away.

Most mods for ArmA 1 will work on ArmA 2 and the community is always working on new stuff.

I'd highly recommend the ACE Mod.

Been watching this game for a while and sort of forgot about it, seeing that video though I think I will be buying that Love games like this, intense warfare, realistic to a point and you get the feeling of all out chaos.
