Couple of things from yesterdays flights...

One:

When following the link that SKii put up for sorting an ATI card.....(which is a fine fine article) HERE be aware of one point....

do NOT turn on S3TC in the IL2 set up....

:(

on my 9800 Pro, it made all the land textures surge back and forward....frame rate plummeted.....

horrible....

switched off.....sorted :)

Having the Mip Map levels set high is fantastic :) on a Pro.....the sea looked awesome....and the coastal areas had real tidal surge with waves :)



Second thing: I kept being dumped from other peoples servers with a SERVER TIMEOUT :( and once even from the Arming screen.....but TiG was on the same router as me and was never dumped ...

I WONDERED if it was the graphics options set too high.....causing the odd slow down and therefore me being dumped for Speed Hack..... but it did dump me once when I had knocked the quality setting down...and as mentioned..in the Armind screen for a refly.

Any ideas guys?

Last but notleast.....

TiG....get BROAD BAND ASAP........you need todo this in the evenings and nights when all our mates are up.... :)

Not sure if you were playing aces or FB or even if you have allready done this, but there is file you can replace that can sort out the problems with aces. I had problems untill I dloaded it, kept getting kicked from servers.

Zak, download the file linked to by Flibb - its a known bug with AEP, aswell as the spawn collision bug in coops and VEF's :( There is a patch due for release in the next week or so which should fix all of the problems and include some new planes :D Indeed the land textures look awesome - its just a shame that I can only see em when I'm flying on my own or with one or two people with me, gets juttery any higher than that :(

Luke.......is it the tree settings that make yours juttery? I have knocked mine to 0....trees are tress are trees.

the water was LOVELY at 3 but it now 1 too :)
